"No one left": Palestinian father loses 35 relatives after Israeli strike in Gaza

Mohammed Hamdan visited his former family home in Gaza's Khan Younis days after it was destroyed in an Israeli airstrike. Thirty-five of his relatives were killed.

The Palestinian father of four was pulled out from the rubble alive, but his daughter, brother and nieces were among the dead.

"Even my daughter used to play here with her cousins, they all were killed. There is no one left, even these neighbours were injured," Hamdan said.

Israel said on Nov. 7 that its forces were operating deep in Gaza City in their offensive to wipe out Hamas in the Palestinian enclave.

The bloodiest episode in the generations-old Israeli-Palestinian conflict reignited after a surprise Oct. 7 Hamas attack in Israel that killed 1,400 Israelis, mostly civilians, and abducted more than 200, according to Israeli tallies.
