The Seiko SSC813 Speedtimer After the Hype: Is It Still Worth $675? One Week Review

When the Seiko SSC813 SBDL085 Speedtimer was released, I instantly knew that it was going to be a big hit. Anything reminiscent of the almighty Rolex Daytona (especially the ceramic ones) is pretty much guaranteed to do well. I was right because the panda dial variant with the black bezel, which has since been nicknamed the “Seitona,” is still sold out on every site and AD, which adds to the Daytona experience.

In this video, I take a look at the SSC813 to see whether its worth its $675 price tag now that the hype has started to calm down slightly. I wasn’t so sure of it when I first got it, but after spending some time with it, I’m liking it more and more.

Alongside the panda dial SSC813 (SBDL085) Seiko also released a blue dial variant SSC815 (SBDL087), a yellow dial SSC817 (SBDL089), and a cool looking black dial variant SSC819 (SBDL091). These versions look pretty cool and I would love to check one of these out at some point, especially the black dial variant which very vaguely reminds me of my Omega Speedmaster Moonwatch.
