What's That Smell? Hunting Down a Mystery Odor | Day 38

For days, I had been noticing a foul musty odor inside my car but couldn't figure out where it was coming from.

In this video, I play a little game of "What's That Smell?" as I track down the source of the odor and discover it was coming from the driver's seat.

To deal with the problem, I mixed vinegar and water in a spray bottle and treated the seat with several rounds of spraying and wiping, allowing the solution to work its way through the fabric and into the foam beneath.

To finish the process, I parked with the driver's door open and let direct sunlight hit the seat. The combination of vinegar, fresh air, heat, and UV exposure can help eliminate odors, discourage mold growth, and speed up the drying process.

Just another day solving the little challenges that come with spending so much time living and traveling out of a small car.
