2020-12-26 Xiao Qi Ji's Major Mountain Milestone!

Day 126: Today Xiao Qi Ji climbed up room 3's rockwork to join mother Mei Xiang while she was eating bamboo!

The video starts out with Qi Ji trying to follow Mei while on the playpen ledge. He tumbled off in his haste to follow his mother who moved to room 2 once the door opened. Once in room 2, he vocalized because he wanted to be up with her, so she assisted him. This led to a sweet nursing bout. When she left, he followed, and took his 2nd tumble. Then he bothered Mei while she was eating bamboo, and she started teaching him that nothing comes between a mother Giant Panda and her bamboo, and the art of the foot block! She left for room 3 and he trotted after her!

Back in room 3, she's up on the rockwork, and he made it up to join her! But it wasn't so easy getting down, and he took his 3rd tumble, this time into the playpen. Mei Xiang didn't react to any of the tumbles, and he did not vocalize ~ both excellent indications that he was perfectly fine! Giant Panda cubs are extremely tough and resilient.
