Operation UNITAS - Brazilian Navy and United States Navy (U.S. Navy)
Operation UNITAS LX was organized in Brazil by the Brazilian Navy and the United States Navy (U.S. Navy). UNITAS is the oldest multinational maritime exercise organized by the United States of America (USA), held since 1959, and has been in the amphibious format since 2008. Its main objective is to increase interoperability between the navies and strengthen the bonds of cooperation and friendship.
Participating Countries: In addition to the United States and Brazil, Argentina and Peru contributed ships and aircraft. Chile, Colombia, Ecuador, Mexico, Panama, Paraguay, and the United Kingdom sent personnel to participate, and Japan and Portugal observed, totaling 13 nations.
