AMX A-1 Fighter Bomber in Action Brazilian Air Force

The Brazilian Air Force AMX A-1 fighter bomber in action fulfilling the bomb drop mission. The AMX A-1 is an air-to-surface attack aircraft used for interdiction missions, approximate air support and air reconnaissance. The AMX is capable of operating at high subsonic speeds at low altitude, both day and night, and if necessary, from poorly equipped bases or with damaged runways.

The fighter has a relatively low infrared signature and reduced radar frontal section, to improve its success rate in missions. Self-defense is provided by air-to-air missiles, integrated cannons and electronic countermeasure systems.

In the Brazilian Air Force, it is designated A-1 (A-1A for the single-seat version and A-1B for the two-seat version). With the modernization the A-1 started to incorporate M in its designation in the FAB, becoming then A-1M, in Italy, he has the nickname "Ghibli".
