Battle of the Nile | Nelson's Victory at Aboukir Bay

Nelson faced off against Napoleon's fleet on 1 August 1798 at Aboukir Bay in Egypt. It was a sea battle that allowed Nelson to cut his teeth as a commander, and became the most decisive battle for the Royal Navy to date.

This video covers:
- Why Napoleon was campaigning in Egypt
- What nelson's mission was.
- The plan for the attack.
- The precise movements of the ships involved in the action in real time with labels and explanations.
- The consequences of the battle on the Napoleonic War and for Nelson himself.

To research for this video I did it completely from book sources. The map of the battle found here: is from the National Maritime Museum and was my main source of formation information for this video.

These videos are made by Andy Hassan as part of the History Blast series. These are meant for educational purposes only.

At the start of the video, I introduced the channel as 'History Bite'. Please note that this is the old name of History Blast, which was changed in August 2021. The use of the name can be attributed to the Trademark 'History Bites', registered to Solomon Schmidt.
