Outdoor VLOG 72: Lake Tahoe's March 2024 Blizzard Comes to a Close with Telemark Turns!

It's Monday morning (3/4/24) as I publish this fourth and final installment of "an evolution of a Lake Tahoe blizzard." And the storm appears to have come to a close, as evidenced by the blue skies and sunshine is overhead.

My roommate and I took yesterday (when I filmed this video) off from shoveling as the wind was whipping so fiercely. Sometimes trying to move snow in that kind of weather is counterproductive. That, and we were both pretty wiped out from the previous day's work! Fortunately, I got called off from my job so neither I nor my roommate had to be anywhere. Instead, she finished her taxes while I worked on my PSIA (Professional Ski Instructors of America) Level 3 certification workbook. Long story short, all the snow that's featured in the opening scenes around my house was new (after we had cleared it on Saturday - yeesh). The storm was relentless!

I spent most of this morning, however, digging out various aspects of the house. I still have to clear the path that leads to the gear and firewood shed in the backyard. However, I'm going to save that for another day. I've already done plenty of shoveling and snow blowing for one day :) Besides, there isn't any snow forecasted for the foreseeable future so there's no real rush to complete everything today.

I've produced this collection of articles and videos about backcountry travel and exploration with the beginner and intermediate adventurer in mind. This is the demographic for whom I most often served while working in the Lake Tahoe outdoor recreation industry. In essence, these informational projects I create and publish are extensions of the many conversations we've had over the years.
