➜Reaction with Oxygen: Non-metals react with oxygen to form acidic oxides.
*Example:*
🌬️ Sulfur + Oxygen → Sulfur dioxide (SO₂)
SO₂ dissolves in water to form sulfurous acid, showing acidic nature.
➜Reaction with Water: Most non-metals do not react with water, but some like chlorine react with water to form acids.
➜Reaction with Acids: Non-metals do not usually react with dilute acids, unlike metals which release hydrogen gas.
➜Reaction with Bases: Some non-metals react with strong bases to form complex salts, but these reactions are not as common.
➜Displacement Reactions: More reactive non-metals can displace less reactive ones from their compounds.

Chlorine displaces bromine from sodium bromide:
Cl₂ + 2NaBr → 2NaCl + Br₂
