The Mississippi coast was impacted by significant wind to hurricane force as well as storm surge that caught many off guard. In Waveland, on the anniversary of Hurricane Katrina, many areas were flooded and some vehicles were left abandoned in storm surge. Roofs were damaged by high wind.
Numerous homes and businesses had water in them and many roads were impassable. A curfew was put in place due to storm impacts at 6pm Sunday evening.
The opening shots are near the silver slipper casino which was unreachable with feet of water on the waterfront roads with big crashing waves. The remainder of the clips in this package are from surrounding areas of Waveland.
