Gaza is the 'hungriest place on earth', says UN spokesman

Jens Laerke, spokesperson for the UN’s Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA), issued a stark warning during a briefing in Geneva about the deepening humanitarian crisis in Gaza, describing it as the only place in the world where the entire population, 100 percent, is at risk of famine.
He condemned the severely limited flow of humanitarian aid, calling the current deliveries “a trickle” and grossly inadequate to stave off disaster.
Laerke further criticised the heavy restrictions hampering relief efforts, describing the situation as “one of the most obstructive aid operations, not only in the world today, but in recent history,” as humanitarian agencies struggle to respond to the urgent needs of Gaza’s besieged population.
