Arab leaders opened an historic summit in Cairo on Saturday (22/6) to call for a unified pursuit of peace talks with Israel. But they have warned of a return to a "spiral of violence" if Israel does not honour past commitments and refuses to return occupied Arab land in return for peace. Jordan's King Hussein and Syrian President Hafez al-Assad met
before the summit.
