Breaking: 12th Grader Runs Speeding Car Over 6-Year Old Child, Injures Five Others | Lucknow

In a tragic hit-and-run incident in Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh, a 12th-grade student, Gaurav Singh allegedly rammed into pedestrians while returning from a farewell party in Banthra on 13th February. Driving rashly with his girlfriend in the passenger seat, Singh's Swift Desire car first crashed into an auto-rickshaw before plowing into people, dragging vehicles nearly 200 meters. The accident resulted in the death of six-year-old Dikshant Patel, who suffered severe head injuries while walking with his mother and grandmother, and injured five others, including two women.

Police reports indicate the driver lost control, though Singh claimed a tire burst caused the mishap; the car belonged to his friend. Lucknow DCP Nipun Agrawal stated that police swiftly responded, registering the case under multiple sections with numerous charges. Treatment for the injured is ongoing, with all reported stable.
