Somantano is a relatively new DO (Spanish Denominación de Origen) which was created in 1984. Somantano lies at the foothills of the Pyrenees mountains about halfway between Barcelona and Rioja. 🍇

Bodega Sommos are producing new world style wines from a mix of local and international grape varieties. Overall, the wines were clean and fruit forward with the careful use of oak. 🍷😎

Sommos crushes 3,000T per year with room for more capacity within the winery. The winery has been designed with incredible detail and to allow gravity fed wine movements throughout the process.

There are 5 levels in the processing wing of the winery:
Crushing,
Large format oak ferment vats
Stainless fermenters
Concrete vats
Concrete vats

The winery is also equipped with barrel halls, an 8 barrel automated barrel washer, a state of the art automated bottling line, guest tasting rooms and an impressive restaurant.
