Art Deco German Urgos Mantle Clock service - Part 7
#GermanClockRepairs #ScottiesClockWorld
In this clock repair series I get a 1950's Urgos mantle clock running again.
Part 7: I reassemble the movement and check the pivots/bushes
Part 6/2: I explain how to correctly use a cutting broach to widen the internal hole in a bushing so it will accept a pivot. I also check the End Play on the arbor.
Part 6/1: I explain the bushing process, what measurements to take, how to select the correct bush, fitting the bush into the plate.
Part 5: I reassemble the movement and check the play in the pivots and bushes in preparation to re-bush the front and back plates as necessary.
Part 4: I prepare the brass parts for cleaning in the ultrasonic cleaner.
Part 3: I clean and grease the mainsprings.
Part 2: I dismantle the movement, remove the springs from their barrels with a spring winder.
Part 1: I remove the movement from the clock case and let the mainsprings down.
It appears to be in quite good condition, though the Suspension Spring is broken and there is no Pendulum Leader or Pendulum.
