Mural Arts Philadelphia's Jane Golden announces new mural project | Judge Higginbotham Tribute
Mural Arts Executive Director Jane Golden announces partnership and mural project to honor Judge A. Leon Higginbotham Jr. in Philadelphia.
***
Mural Arts Philadelphia, The Philadelphia Citizen, and the University of Pennsylvania Carey Law School have come together to produce a uniquely Philadelphian tribute to honor the life and legacy of Judge A. Leon Higginbotham, Jr. (1928-1998), a Philly civil rights pioneer.
This dedication has been a longstanding dream of the Citizen's Larry Platt and Mural Arts Philadelphia's Jane Golden. Today, along with Penn Carey Law, we kick off this historic project and unveil the mural design. Over the next couple of months, the mural will be painted and the Citizen will publish a series of articles called the Color of Law introducing the judge's great accomplishments and voice of moral leadership to a new generation of Philadelphians. A celebratory breakfast and dedication will take place in October 2022. Learn about the judge and Philadelphia's tribute here:
