Jerk Beans Beetroot Burger || Healthy Plantbased Burger Recipe || Homemade Plantbased Cheese Sauce
Ingredients:
Buns
1 cup spelt flour
1 and 1/2 cups unbleached all purpose flour
3 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp salt
1 cup unsweetened apple sauce
3 tbsp coconut oil
Extra flour for dusting
Burger
2 cups cook chickpeas
One 15 oz can blackbeans
1 and 1-2 cups white Bella mushroom
1 small beetroot
2 tsp Boston jerk seasoning
Salt and black pepper
1/4 onion
3 garlic
1/2 tsp dried aregano
1/2 tsp dried basil
1/2 tsp smoked paprika
1 tsp onion powder
1/2 tsp garlic powder
1/4 tsp coriander
2 tbsp coconut oil
3 tbsp tapioca flour to bind burger( can use another flour or a few tbsp of oats to bind burger).
Extra flour can be any flour for dusting
** You have the option to either fry or bake the burger.
Cheese sauce
1 cup raw cashews (soaked in warm water for a few minutes before blending).
1 large cook carrot
3 tbsp tapioca flour
1/2 tbsp agar powder
Roughly 1 and 1/2 cups nutritional yeast
Salt and black pepper to taste ( The black pepper is optional)
1 tsp garlic powder
2 and 1/2 cups water
*This was my first time making burger buns without yeast and I’m happy with how they turned out. I will be honest though they were a bit dense, but still good.
