Gwen Jorgensen - Parkrun 5km, 2 x 4min
Gwen Jorgensen, Olympic Triathlon Champion and 2 x ITU Champion has recently moved to Boulder, Colorado to further her professional running career. We joined her for one of her first hard workouts at altitude accompanied by training partner Lauren Hurley and coach Bobby McGee.
Gwen has her own YouTube channel where she regularly shares training and racing insights: https://www.youtube.com/user/gwenjorgensen
Gwen has plans to begin building towards a Marathon in the coming months. In the meantime, a few 10km and Half Marathon's will be added to the schedule.
The workout: Parkrun 5km, 6 minutes jog recovery, 2 x 4min efforts (90sec recovery).
* Please note: the splits on the video are taken from Gwen's watch which recorded the 5km parkrun slightly shorter than 5km which was probably due to the many turns (including a U-turn). They are estimate paces.
