Our First Temple Stay Experience

We started our vacation in Kiryu, which is located in Gunma Prefecture. We had an incredible experience staying in a sacred temple and observing the morning prayer with some locals.
This temple was located in the middle of a residential neighborhood, and was a little difficult to find. Once you walked through the temple gates, it was like walking back in time.
This temple calls the lodging section a "hotel" but there were only 2 rooms. I have heard of "temple stays" that included vegan meals and more interaction with the monks. This was not the case, but we were not disappointed.
This was an extremely unique experience, and I hope to do it again while we live here.
