The Classic truly lives up to its name. Low in profile, beautifully shaped, simple in its details, but powerful in its impact, this art deco inspired tribute to Jaeger-LeCoultre's 86 years of Reverso heritage begins with the simple, classically profiled, steel pin buckle, like the first Reversos of 1931, it's low in profile, easily adjusted, and as the Reverso began its life as a sports watch, very fitting. The form following the function, the easily adjusted pin buckle gives way to a slim and understated, semi-gloss, black, rectangular scale, alligator leather strap, with a monotone stitch, sheer folded edges, and on the underside, a supple calfskin.

You'll note that there are pull-tab spring bars at both sides, allowing you to remove the strap with nothing more than a fingernail, without recourse to a jeweler or specialized tools, you can easily avail yourself of one of the many Jaeger-LeCoultre factory replacement straps, and alternative strap hide and color options available, either through Jaeger-LeCoultre, or through your representative at Govberg. The watch features the classical integration of strap and lug, that's been a hallmark of the Reverso for 86 years. You can see drilled high, the strap shows no daylight, between strap and encase, for a highly integrated look.

The case itself features all of the hallmarks that have made the Reverso not just an emotional favorite, but a design classic that transcends the watch industry. Firmly rectilinear geometry's contrast in the horizontal sweep of the triple [inaudible 00:02:07] at 12:00 and 6:00, in juxtaposition to the vertical sweep of the case lines themselves. Hard and rectangular, with close to a golden section aspect ratio of height to width, when seen from the front.
