After my miscarriage, my lower back and legs hurt. What can I do?

First of all, I want to tell you I'm so sorry that you've had to go through a miscarriage, that can be so difficult emotionally and physically. You mentioned specifically in your question that you have had lower back pain and you have pain in your legs. Those can be normal manifestations of the cramping and pain associated with the miscarriage but that doesn't make it any easier to bear. Talk to your doctor about medications that they recommend you take that will help with the pain. Watch yourself and if you ever have severe bleeding it would be best for you to go to the Emergency Room. You can expect bleeding that is just a tad bit heavier than a normal period and it will probably last for a week or two but should taper on in the amount and you shouldn't have much bleeding after a week or two. If you ever develop a fever or have severe abdominal pain, the pain that you're currently experiencing isn't going away with time or medication that the doctor recommends, it would be best to get checked out to make sure everything is okay. Bleeding and infection are the largest complications after a miscarriage. There are also emotional wounds that need to heal after you've had a miscarriage and a lot of women feel depressed and they feel guilty and hopeless after a miscarriage. If these feelings don't go away after a month or so then it would be best to talk to your doctor. It is normal, let yourself experience these feelings and work through them. A lot of women as soon as they miscarry want to know how soon they can get pregnant again or start trying. Most doctors recommend that you let at least one normal cycle pass before you start actively trying to have a baby again.
