Obertauern, is one of the only purpose built ski resorts in Austria. However, the ski resort of Obertauern, is certainly a popular ski destination with both skiers and snowboarders.

Located in the Radstädter Tauern region in an area known as SalzburgerLand, the ski resort has much to offer. The resort is actually divided and there are two communities, which are known as Tweng and Untertauern.

Skiing and Pistes:

The resort has something for everyone of all ages and abilities. Obertauern, has a wide range of pistes to suit all levels of skiers and snowboarders. With over 100 kilometers of pistes, there are pistes to keep beginners, intermediate and advanced skiers and snowboarders happy.

The 100 kilometers of groomed pistes in the ski area of Obertauern, is serviced by 26 lifts and the highest lift is at 2526 metres. The height of the resort, has given the ski resort of Obertauern, one of the best snow sure records in SalzburgerLand.

Blue Runs: 61km
Red Runs: 35km
Black: 4km

Obertauern Gamsleiten 2:

One of the best known runs in Obertauern, is the Obertauern Gamsleiten 2. The Obertauern Gamsleiten 2, is one of the steepest runs in Austria and is a favourite with many advanced skiers and snowboarders.

Many of the hotels and chalets in Obertauern, offer guests the option of ski in and ski out. The hotels and chalets provides a relaxed and family orientated atmosphere, which provide the perfect base for all ages to explore the area.
