Tesla Provides Rare Explanation Why It's Increasing Car Prices in China

Tesla provided some rare explanation about why it increased the price of the Model 3 Long Range and the Model Y Long Range in China. It looks like there is a compelling case for it.

Tesla's comment was reportedly shared with local media outlet Elephant News, which quoted a Tesla customer service staff. “It is normal for vehicle prices to rise and fall. If the cost drops, then the price may come down,” the Tesla staff stated. It should be noted that Tesla has reduced its vehicles’ prices this year multiple times.

In other words, Tesla tells us that the recent price increases are due to cost increases. The price increase of Tesla vehicles in China is minimal, only a few hundred dollars per vehicle: both about the Model 3 and the Model Y.
