2022 Distinguished Alumnus: Michael W. “Mike” Perrin  - Acceptance Speech - Nov. 11, 2022

A noted trial attorney, Mike Perrin is Of Counsel at Winstead PC in Houston. Previously, he returned to his college alma mater to assume leadership duties as the Men’s Athletics Director at The University of Texas, serving from September 2015 through December 2017. Perrin gained prominence as a partner in several Houston law firms. He served on UT Austin's Council for Intercollegiate Athletics for Women and led fundraising campaigns at the law school. He received the university’s Presidential Citation in 2015, and in 2010 was inducted into the Hall of Honor—Texas Athletics’ highest recognition. A three-year letterman, Perrin was a starting linebacker on the 1968 Texas Football team that began the 30-game winning streak that still stands as one of the longest in the modern era of the NCAA, as well as the longest in UT school history. Throughout his career, he has remained active in an advisory role to both Texas Athletics and campus academic endeavors.
