Dark skin patients LOVE my Tummy Tucks… Let me explain why

Unlike lighter skin patients, darker skin patients are more prone to scars and coloration of the scars. So what do I do to help these patients?

I use sutures on the inside to put tension across the skin. This takes tension OFF of the closure.

Tension is what makes a thick, upraised or wide scar. So no tension = less chance of a thick, upraised or wide scar!

I also utilize Liposculpture to create that natural hourglass shape.

I always do optimized laser and topical treatments, specially formulated for darker skin patients and I use them before, during and after surgery. This reduces the risk of darker colored or thick / upraised scars.
