Your Tummy Tuck Should NOT Be Painful

🚩🚩🚩Tummy Tucks should NOT be PAINFUL!

Let’s discuss analgesia vs anesthesia.

Anesthesia refers to the state of being asleep during surgery, while Analgesia involves preventing the perception of pain.

Gating Theory is a crucial concept that helps prevent the sensation of pain during and after surgery.

By not opening the gates to pain, the brain’s pain receptors can be effectively blocked, preventing the recording of pain sensations during surgery. This significantly lowers the risk of experiencing post-op pain.

So how do we do this?

By injecting your body with numbing medications BEFORE the knife touches skin.

This goes BEYOND just oral medication prior to surgery or the use of EXPAREL afterwards - it involves a comprehensive approach.

Most surgeons know this, yet - not all of them choose to implement this.
We’ll discuss the reasoning for that in another video though…
