Mercedes-Benz Vito - How to remove / install the instrument panel (Dashboard) | W447, W448 (V-Class)

you are removing the dashboard on the
V-Class the work begins on the
passenger side because you will be
working on the airbags later
disconnect the battery
then it's time to remove the a column
cladding remove the cover and unscrew
the screw underneath
pull off the edge protection then you
can carefully remove the cladding repeat
the process on the driver's side
to remove the speakers on the dashboard
use the plastic wedge to carefully
remove the covering pieces first begin
with the middle covering piece
you can simply unclip the others
the speaker is only clipped in place use
a suitable tool to remove it do the same
on the other side of the vehicle
use the plastic wedge to remove the
middle speaker
now it's time to remove the right
dashboard cover we've already shown you
how to do this on a crew bus
pulley edge protection downward
remove the side trim
and the defrosting nozzle
remove the edge protection even further
and remove the side cladding from the footwell
then unscrew the screws underneath the
cover and plug the electrical connectors
and then remove the cladding
dismantle the air duct segment
unscrew all of the fastening screws for
the glove compartment
and remove the glove compartment
the connector for the passenger airbag
is now exposed unplug it
in the next step you remove the steering
wheel and the steering column module
pull out the air vent nozzle on the
passenger side and remove the screw behind it
remove the cladding
unscrew these two screws as well
then you can remove the steering column cladding
there are also two screws behind this
cladding remove these as well
pull out the instrument cluster slightly
and unplug its electrical connector
if present unclip the collar for the
gearshift lever and pull it up would
remove the lower cladding
now you can access the four fastening
screws for the lower control panel
unscrew these unplug the connectors and
remove them as well
now you can unclip the cover for the
middle console
remove the two screws for the radio
use a removal hook to unlock it and pull
it out then unplug the electrical connectors
remove the multimedia connection unit as well
now continue in the footwell remove this
cover and unscrew the screw
repeat the process on the other side
now you can remove the entire console
unplug the electrical connector for the
12 volt plug socket
you're still working in the footwell
unscrew the three screws for the lower
cladding
unplug the two electrical connectors and
remove the cover
dismantle the air duct segment
now everything is prepared you only have
to remove all four fastening screws for
the dashboard
on the driver's side pull the panel
forward a short distance and then you
have to unplug a number of connectors
begin with the ignition and the interior
air temperature sensor located below it
on the side you continue with the
connectors for the control panel the
light switch and the electric parking brake
have a colleague help you with the last
step unplug the Bluetooth connection and
then you can completely remove the dashboard
the work is now complete refit in the reverse order.
