Simple linear regression model -part 1 is the fifth lecture in the playlist of lectures under 'Correlation, simple & multiple linear and non-linear regression models'
We understand the shortcomings with the sample #linearregression line in capturing the linear relationship deterministically if exists between a bivariate data pair and introduce the need for a #probabilisticmodel namely the #simplelinearregression model. Explain the role of the error part in the above model and the necessary assumptions about the behavior of the error. Explain how the coefficients (intercept , slope) of the #populationregression line are inferred from the coefficients of the sample regression line. And introduce the Model utility test to judge if the Simple linear regression model is suitable enough to arrive at acceptable inferences about the population characteristics
