Surety Bonding with Kiewit

BONDING BASICS
If a prime contractor or owner requires subcontractors/ suppliers to provide bonding, then the subcontractor must obtain a bond (financial backing) from a surety. The Surety is the company who will be financially responsible to the prime if the subcontractor defaults.
DO YOU QUALIFY?
The Kiewit Bonding Program will apply to all subcontractors and material supply contracts EXCEPT for:
• Subcontracts or material supply contracts greater than $50 million
• Subcontracts or material supply contracts associated with critical path work
• Sub or material contracts having a significant sole sourced or custom fabricated material component.
PROGRAM REQUIREMENT:
Provide a letter from a subcontractor or supplier’s surety indicating your bond rate.
