How to work with the device password on your MT-50 solar charge controller remote display

The default password is "000000". If you haven't changed it, just hit the "OK" key any time you're prompted for a password. It'll automatically log you out after around 10 minutes.

You can change the password, it's 6 digits, entered via the up/down and left/right keys. If you change the password, you had better write it down someplace (or better yet, several places) because if you forget it, you are pretty much out of luck. There's likely some way to do a hardware reset, perhaps the EpSolar tech support folks could help with that:

I would tie the password to the Device ID or maybe the s/n or something like that. For example, make device ID 001 have password 000001 or something like that to make it easier to remember. Unless you have a REALLY good reason to change the default password, it's probably best to leave it alone.

If you want to change battery charging parameters in the #4 Control Parameters screens, you need to select the "USER" battery type. That type has read/write parameters, the other types (Flooded, Sealed, Gel) are read only parameters. See this video on how you might change those:
