Ghee Kichidi / Pongal

Ingredients:-

Moon dal - 1/2 cup
Rice - 1/2 cup
Water - 4 cups

Wash Dal and Rice together and add them to a pressure cooker and add 4 cups of water then cook it till dal is mashed or 3-4 whistles on medium flame.

For Tempering:-

Ghee - 2 tb spn
Cashew nuts - 2 tb spn
Pepper- 1 tsp
Cumin - 1/2 tsp
Ginger chopped- 1 tsp
Green chillies chopped- 4
Hing - Pinch
Curry leaves- 2 sprigs
Salt - To Taste

Mix the boiled rice and dal into the tempering.
Hot and tasty Pongal/ Kichidi is ready to be served.
Coconut Chutney:-

Ingredients:-

Fresh Coconut- 1/2
Roasted chana dal - 1 tb spn
Green chillies- 4
Tamarind- 2 pieces
Sugar - 1/2 tsp
Salt - To Taste
Coconut water - 1/2 cup

Add all of them into a mixer grinder and make a chutney of them and add tempering if needed.
Adjust the consistency accordingly.
