Roof Extended to Keep Snow Away | Sawmill Shed Build - Episode 8
Today my goal is to get the roof extended to keep snow away on this episode of my sawmill shed build. With the weather quickly moving in and snow in the forecast, the fire has been lit and I'm working hard to finish the roof. Even though I don't like heights, that's exactly where I'm at today with a hammer and nail slinging those rafters into position. I'm not taking any chances in this situation as I use construction adhesive on every joint to permanently affix the pieces once-and-for-all. When framing a gable roof section like this, it sure would be nice to have a second set of hands. Despite being on my own, I take a bit more time and a lot more ladder steps but the job gets done. This roof design may be perfect for folks like you at home who also get lots of driving rain and snow who need the extra weather protection for your sawmill. This roof design is relatively simple and will give just what I need in the form or weather protection. Watch how I layout the rafters to match up with the existing rafters on the back portion of the sawmill shed to create a seamless roof line. With the completion of the sawmill shed roof getting closer, I'll soon be ready to embrace winter and get back to sawing logs. Thanks for watching everyone, you folks are what make this channel great! See ya next time.
