Hate
1. Dividends are irrelevant when calculating total returns
2. Dividend companies are not innovating and investing their free cash flow back into their business
3. Dividend paying companies don't appreciate as fast as non-dividend paying companies
4. Dividends are not guaranteed (Company can cut the dividend)
5. You are forced to pay taxes upfront instead of based on when you sell (in a taxable account)

Love
1. Dividend investing creates passive income (replace my 9-5 job with dividend checks)
2. Markets are not always efficient. When a company is oversold, you can purchase shares of great companies at a discount and increase your Yield on Cost
3. Yearly dividend increases (passive pay raises)
4. Dividend paying companies are forced to be more intentional on how they spend their revenue and are less volatile over time
5. Dividend investing creates generational wealth
