LANDSLIP on railway!

LANDSLIP on railway - With a lot of heavy rain over the last couple of months, the ground has become saturated. This has taken its toll on 150 year old railway cuttings and embankments which are starting to crumble. Several landslips have happened in the South East of England in January 2021, this one resulted in the closure of the Chatham Main Line between Gillingham and Sittingbourne for just over two weeks while repairs were undertaken. In this video, we take a look at the landslip that happened near Newington in Kent and the repair process over a couple of weeks. On the last day of work, Storm Darcy decided to make an appearance covering the area in snow!
