Join us for Lesson 4 of the U.S Citizenship Preparation Class! This class covers an overview of the first 6 parts of Form N-400 and a civics lesson about the 3 Branches of Government - including 17 test questions, and four reading and writing sentences. Come study with us!!

Vocabulary for Parts 1-6:
INTRODUCTION:
applicable: applies to you
failure: when you do not do something properly
delay: make something (your application) happen more slowly
biological: related by birth
adoptive: related by a legal adoption
biographic: facts related to a person’s life
PART 1
eligibility: the right to apply for something
lawful permanent resident: a person who is living legally in the U.S.; also known as a permanent resident or a green card holder
spouse: your husband or wife
PART 2
current: what is true now
exactly: the same in every way
aliases: other names that someone uses or used
maiden name: surname used by a woman before marriage
legally: allowed by law
gender: male or female, man or woman
developmental disability: a physical or mental condition that makes it difficult for you to do things
impairment: a physical or mental condition that limits your abilities
exemption: special permission not to do something
PART 3
accommodation: a change in the way something is done for you
disabilities: physical or mental conditions that make it difficult for you to do things
impairments: physical or mental limitations
deaf: unable to hear
hard of hearing: unable to hear well
sign-language interpreter: a person who uses hand signs to translate for hearing impaired applicants
blind: unable to see

residence: where you live; your home
location: a place
county: a region or province in the state
