SHIMOKITAZAWA, Tokyo: Thrift Stores, Japanese Snacks & Don Quijote

Shimokitazawa is a quirky, alternative area of Tokyo with lots of vintage shops, vinyl stores, cosy cafes, bars and gig venues.

Take a look around Shimokitazawa with us, including how to get there on the Odakyu line from Shinjuku, and also from Shibuya. It's so quick to get to, even though it's outside the Yamanote Line. There are lots of fun, independent shops to look round, as well as well-known chain stores and lots of places to eat. There's colourful street art and it's a great place for photography. My favourite thing to do in Shimokitazawa is just wander around, seeing what you find. And if you're there for shopping, there are a good number of stores with mens clothing, especially if you're looking for something slightly alternative. The video also includes delicious taiyaki (a must-try in Japan!) and an amazing hanko stamp vending machine we spotted in Don Quijote.
