You can find coin lockers in many places in Japan, including train stations, shopping malls, department stores and tourist attractions. There are three main sizes: small, medium and large, plus the elusive XL size which you hardly ever see. The video shows what you can fit in each locker size. There are two types of lockers: ones which take IC cards (eg Suica / Pasmo) and older lockers that take coins and have keys. There's a helpful walk-through of how to use each type, and how to retrieve your baggage. I hope it helps for your trip to Japan!
