India's First High Speed Railway: Mumbai–Ahmedabad Bullet Train Project

- In this video we discuss one ongoing railway project which should result in INDIA’S FIRST HIGH-SPEED RAILWAY LINE. It is called MUMBAI–AHMEDABAD High-Speed Rail Corridor and it should connect the cities of Ahmedabad, a metropolis in the State of Gujarat, and India's economic hub of Mumbai in Maharashtra. It is also known as the Indian Bullet Train Project.

Currently, the fastest train on this line is the Ahmedabad Duronto Express, which takes more than six hours to reach Mumbai Central from Ahmedabad, running non-stop between these two cities at a maximum speed of 130 km/h (80 mph). After completion, it will be a 508 km (315 mi) long, brand new high-speed railway line for designed speed of 350 km/h (217 mph).

Among other aspects, we discuss the background of the project, selected alignment, financial arrangements and the impact on the environment.
