- Today, we are speaking about one global initiative that we believe most of you have already heard of - The Chinese Belt and Road Initiative.

This Initiative, also known as One Belt One Road, or simply OBOR, can be described as the main tool of China's international policy.

In this video, we tried to explain it in its essence, starting from the reasons behind China’s decision to launch it at first place, all the way to the role and the potential of railways within its context.

Of course, we started from the very beginnings - the history of trade between Europe and China and the establishment of the Silk Road. Then, we explained the present day economic relations and ties between Europe and China, which contributed to the formation of B&R corridors. Also, we covered geographical aspect of Belt and Road corridors (for both the Silk Road Economic Belt and 21st Century Maritime Silk Road), and, in the second part of this video, we put our focus to the role and the potential of railway traffic within the Belt and Road Corridors.
