Feeding All My Birds (Daily Routine)

Scheduled meal times for parrots are critically important to avoid for most pet parrots because you create an expectation and when you cannot live up to it every day, for the rest of your bird's life, you create "expectation screaming". In other words, "You're late" screaming!

This is why I feed my birds breakfast anytime before noon, and give them their dinner anytime after 3pm in the evening and before dark.

Some supplies I keep on hand in the garden shed are:
➡️ extra everything!!! (Always have extras - vet wrap, treats, food bowls, food, water, netting, sand, locks, perching, toys, quick links...)

My aviaries are from CustomCages.com. The outdoor round ones are 6' diameter sun catcher aviaries, and one of them is a 4' diameter suncatcher. My large 15' aviary is from CornersUnlimited.com. The indoor ones are 5x8, two of which are full and two of which are divided in the middle. I use rotating feeding systems for those while my outdoor ones at my folks house have friendly feeders (not recommended!)

🔥 Temps I go by: 40 degrees on the low end. It doesn't get too hot in Idaho for my birds, but heat is something you need to be aware of in other climates and always offer water, turn on misters when possible to cool the area around the aviary and inside and don't house them in weather where they appear uncomfortable or are not properly acclimated to. 🔥

My indoor and outdoor aviaries use sanded bottoms but the outdoor ones at my house use cement bottoms (except for the 14').
