Sweet Bean Paste Recipe

Hi Cake Friends!

I am so excited about sharing this recipe with you! I have so many exciting plans for it in future tutorials! From food cakes that involve pasta and potatoes to maybe a Styrofoam flexible container for food cakes! Yay!! I hope you guys enjoy this recipe!!

UPDATE: I have made a few practice flowers since filming this recipe. I made a few roses using bean paste as the flower's center, and some using the Wilton plastic cone center. I have learned that in dry weather the bean paste shrinks back a little bit as it dries, and the bean paste on the plastic cone actually cracked in some areas as it dried. The flowers using the bean paste as the center held up very well and did not crack or have a bad odor (as another bean paste recipe developer experienced). I cannot say yet whether it will have a bad odor in humid weather, but I will definitely be testing it out this summer and I'll let you guys know :)
Flexible bean paste recipe:

170 grams dry cannellini beans
1 tablespoon vegetable oil
2 tablespoons vegetable shortening
1/3 cup white granulated sugar
35 grams bleached white flour
35 grams Mochiko sweet rice flour
15 grams cornstarch
1/2 to 1 teaspoon clear vanilla extract
3 tablespoons light corn syrup or glucose syrup
1 tablespoon food grade vegetable glycerin
