STORYLINE:
A large crowd gathered in the southern Lebanese village of Taybeh for the funeral of a Lebanese local official killed in an Israeli strike on Monday.
Israeli shelling struck the home of 80-year-old local official Hussein Mansour, killing him instantly, state media and Lebanese security officials said.
The Lebanon-Israel border has been witnessing daily exchanges of fire over the past two months.
Fighters of the militant Hezbollah group started attacking Israeli posts along the frontier, a day after the Israel-Hamas war started on October 7.
Mansour's death raises to at least 17 the number of civilians killed in southern Lebanon since this latest round of violence broke out.
