The 2000 season featured three Category 5 storms - Bilis, Damrey, and Saomai. The deadliest storm was Saomai, which was also the most expensive storm of the year. Xangsane damaged the most structures, and Saomai caused the largest evacuation and heaviest rainfall of the year.
