Flew Lockheed P-38 Lightnings in the ETO and took part on first fighter flight to Berlin as well as flying 3 missions on D-Day. Appointed P-38 tactics instructor to all incoming pilots in the 8th Air Force. After the war, was recalled to active duty, flying F-80s and F-86s in Korea with the 8th Fighter Group. In civilian life, flew as an airline pilot, flight instructor and corporate pilot with over 29,000 accident free hours of flight.
