Imbongi: Shembe Praise Poet during #Zulu200 & #HeritageDay celebrations at Moses Mabhida

Today we celebrated 200 years since King #Shaka kaSenzangakhona founded the #Zulu Nation in 1816, having conquered many tribes, incorporated and united them under the Zulu Kingdom. In this video the Praise Singer/Poet (Inyosi / Imbongi) is reciting the praise poem of the Leader of the Shembe Church, Inkosi Mduduzi Shembe (Unyazi LweZulu). The Shembe congregants were conducting a prayer session prior to the formal programme which included speeches from His Majesty King Goodwill Zwelithini, President Jacob Zuma, Zulu Prime Minister, MP & Leader of IFP Prince Mangosuthu Buthelezi and many others. Of course the Zulu warriors and maidens came in their great numbers.
