Cooking with Mama Lin

#ad When I started sharing cooking videos of Mama Lin, she was a little hesitant about being filmed all the time. At first, she wasn’t sure if she knew enough recipes to share and she thought she was too old to be a cooking personality. But I reminded her that she’s had decades of cooking experience, and in fact, she is the perfect person to teach people how to make traditional Chinese recipes. I know many of you feel the same way too!

Over the past few months, I’ve partnered with @BrookdaleLiving to highlight how social media helped me build a deeper connection with my mom and how it has helped my mom discover new ways to express her passion in cooking.

Brookdale’s philosophy is that although we’re all aging, it shouldn’t keep us from enjoying our lives, and I believe that my mom’s eagerness to share her joy in cooking echoes this sentiment. I’m really fortunate to be able to spend time with my mom in this way, and I hope to encourage all of you to do something similar with your parents, grandparents or relatives!
