Restoring the Male Bison's Nose with Original Cast

Museum artist Joianne Bittle Knight and conservator Julia Sybalsky explain the meticulous process of restoring the nose of a male bison in the American bison and pronghorn antelope diorama using what is perhaps the original plaster cast.

The restored Hall of North American Mammals reopened October 2012.
