Grytviken Whaling Station | South Georgia & the Falklands | Lindblad Expeditions-National Geographic

We think of whaling as something that happened 100 or 200 years ago, but whaling activity actually reached its peak during the 1950s. This whaling station on South Georgia Island was where whales were processed for oil and other products -- dangerous, difficult work.
