"Bette Davis Eyes" was written and composed by Donna Weiss and Jackie DeShannon in 1974, but it became popular for Kim Carnes in 1981. It was on the top of the Billboard Hot 100 for nine non-consecutive weeks. It was Billboard's biggest hit of the year. It was also a #1 hit in 21 other countries. It reached #2 in Canada for 12 consecutive weeks.

The song won the Grammy Awards for Song of the Year and Record of the Year; it also ranked at No. 12 on Billboard's list of the Top 100 songs in the first 50 years of the Billboard Hot 100 chart. Carnes had a few other hits, including "Don't Fall in Love with a Dreamer," a duet with superstar Kenny Rogers. However, Carnes was never able to match the success of "Bette Davis Eyes." Carnes was 36 years old when this song became a smash hit. She has, also, been a successful songwriter and has been reported to be living in Nashville.

Technical: The video and its sound have been enhanced and the lip sync corrected to improve the overall quality of this nearly 40 year old recording.
