This was probably my favorite song by The Troggs. They were a prominent British Invasion band. The Troggs, most of the time, recorded raw primal or "caveman" music. Later on the style was referred to as early punk rock. This performance of "With A Girl Like You" was filmed at "The Beat-Club in Germany. This record was bigger in Europe than in the U.S. In 1966 it went to #1 in the U.K. and to #43 in America. But it received lots of airplay in the U.S. Released in the U.S. on the Fontana label, the flip side was "I Want You." Top Trogg, Reg Presley, wrote the song.This band's most enduring classic is "Wild Thing" from 1966.
